Clara and David Allison

Clara Hannah Heginbotham was born in Tyabb in 1866.

Clara married David Allison in 1887 and they had ten children – Lily, Herbert, James, Rose, Ada, Ernest, Kenneth, Frank, Elsie and Dorothy.

 

Clara was a nurse and had a Private Hospital in Mornington (known as "Nurse Allison’s") long before the present hospital opened.

She attended to the births of many babies during that time.

Clara died in 1932.

David Allison was born in Mornington in 1862.

David’s parents were James Drummond Allison and Elizabeth (neé Pentecost).

He drove the mail coach between Frankston and Mornington, years before the railway was opened. He was also a saddler.

David died in 1922.
