George Thorne
George and Catherine Thorne lived at Osborne, on 20 acres,
and raised a family of six children:

The Thorne brothers, William James (Jim), and George, did contracting work for the Shire of Mornington. The families have many descendants in Mornington. One of Jim’s daughters, May, married Albert Connell, in 1911, and the newlyweds purchased the old Osborne School (now known as Osborne Cottage), from Nelson Rudduck, for their new home.
Many of the Thorne family are buried in the Mornington Cemetery.
