Light Wood Vale, 221 Mornington-Tyabb Rd, Moorooduc

After the death of his father in 1876, William Jnr moved to the Peninsula. William was a grazier in Tyabb from 1902 to 1909, at Light Wood Vale.

This property was described as being "in the exact middle of the Peninsula" - it was on Tyabb Road, halfway between Stumpy Gully and Coolart Roads.

William had slaughter yards on the property and later freezers and cool rooms. He also drove a bullock team, and he travelled with a cutting cart, selling his meat as far afield as Shoreham, Flinders and Hastings. In 1903, William married Sarah Emily Sawyer, daughter of Jesse and Mary Ann (Coxhell) Sawyer, of Mornington. William worked as a butcher at Tyabb for thirty-five years from 1911 to 1946. He also served many years as a Councillor with the Frankston-Hastings Shire.
