Howard and Rose Pitt
Howard George Pitt was born in Devon, England, in 1864.
After arriving in Australia on board the "Austral", in 1885, he married Jessie Buchanan.
Howard and Jessie had three sons, and one daughter.
Howard purchased "Tuerong Park", in 1906, where he took up farming.
In 1913, Howard installed a manager at Tuerong Park, and moved to Gembrook, where he became a hotel proprietor for many years.
Tuerong Park was sold in 1922, and Howard and Jessie Pitt moved, to live in “Airlie”, Green Island, Mornington.
His occupation at that time was listed as "grazier".
Jessie died in 1924, aged sixty two years, and is buried in the Mornington cemetery.
In 1931 Howard married Rose Harris and lived at her home, "Marina", on the Esplanade, Mornington.
Howard died in 1933 and was buried in the Mornington cemetery with his first wife Jessie.
Rose Pitt, born in 1861, had lived at "Marina" for much of her life, and had been with her father, Joseph Harris, when he died in 1925.
