Miss Stamp's School

Dorothea Stamp and her sister Anna Ashton were proprietors of a small school for the children of the town, among their pupils were Elsie & Lily Garlick (pictured), Emmie Allchin and "Gib" Barrett.

The school was in Barkly Street down towards the beach end on the right hand side, the large Norfolk Pine that is still growing there was the site of the school. Dorothea Stamp and her sister Anna were also organists at the Presbyterian Church.
