Robert Olley Jnr.
Robert Olley was born in Mornington, in 1853, to Robert and Christina Olley.
He went to school in Mornington, and after that, took up the trade of bricklaying.
He married Emmie Amelia Allchin, of Sutton Grange, Mornington in 1889.
Emmie was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Allchin. She was educated at the small school in Barkly Street run by Miss Ashton and her sister Mrs Stamp.
Robert and his father made all the bricks for his new home at 29 Barkly Street Mornington, out at his father’s property "Clydebank".
He and his new wife Emmie were to live in their home in Barkly Street, for the rest of their lives.
Two children were born out of the marriage, Ernest Olley, in 1890, and Jean Olley, in 1894.
Ernest served in W.W.1, and Jean lived in the family home till her death, in 1985.
It is believed that Robert visited the Katoomba Guest House in Flinders in 1904, where he left a message in the Guest Book.
Robert died in 1939 and Emmie in 1947.
They are both buried in the Mornington cemetery.
